Well-maintained and good standard hotel
Varied breakfasts for all tastes. Magnificent location really close to the seaside, the "good" beach that is suitable for swimming, and Railay

The location on East Railay is close to the best (only) strip of bars and nightlife, plus you are only a 5 min walk from the rest of the beaches. The hotel transfer was faultless and definitely worth investing in to not have to wade in carrying your cases. The overall impression of the hotel is great - the rooms are gorgeous and well designed - the bed is huge and very comfortable, food was good as well with varied selection for breakfast and good quality evening meals in the restaurant plus snacks in the bar for lunch. The pool area is also lovely and the spa treatments are impeccable - if a little expensive.
The hotel could be much improved with a little investment in the staff - the service is not quite there yet and is the only thing that lets the hotel down. The pool bar was only intermittently staffed and when you did find someone it took a long time for food and drinks to arrive. Going to the spa, there was twice no-one on the desk and had to wait for 20 mins before eventually giving up and going to reception. Once booking was made they then mixed it up on arrival for the treatment and it had to be rescheduled for later that day. We also stayed over nye and the compulsory gala dinner was extremely expensive for what you got - 3500thb per person. The management attitude to money is also a little odd - pushy to the point of aggression - ie had to pay for room in full immediately on arrival, felt like we were pushed into immediately confirming our place at the dinner (given it is compulsory anyway that was unneccessary) and were physically stopped from leaving the dinner until we had signed and paid for the bills - which again as they knew exactly which room was on which table was odd and the manner in which it was done was very poor - we saw one couple attempt to be charged for a bottle of wine they had won from the hotel themselves that night!

The restaurant was small for dinner, we ordered wonderful dishes. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the view of the sea and the limestone cliffs was great.

Beautiful private pool rooms and main pool
It was located on the East side of Railay Beach which was quite smelly and seemed to be the industrial side to the island

Very clean, beautiful place, very nice breakfast, massive king size bed and great shower!!
They do not communicate things well. You can get free transfers if you book directly through their site which was not disclosed to us (i guess that is kind of obvious however annoying once you find that out). The rooms lighting is not so good when it gets dark. The room gets very bright early once the sun comes up (can be a good thing if you do not want to waste the day, bad if you go to bed very late and want a sleep in with no eye shades).
